Why alula? What does alula mean?

The alula feathers are a bird's secret superpower. The alula is a small structure —like a thumb— on birds' wings that allow them elegantly maneuver in flight, especially to aid in lift, stalling and landing. Check out this article in Nature to learn more about the function of the alula.

We were inspired to name the company alula because we believe that even seemingly small contributions have the power to make long-lasting and meaningful impacts (plus, we love palindromes!).
